Yes, absolutely. However, only pre-approved charities can be selected as the recipient for your campaign. Here at Donate Your Day we have thorough processes for selecting and partnering with charities to ensure best practices are met at all times.
However we are always adding more charities to the community and are more than willing to consider your preferred charity, as long as they are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Most charities must provide direct benevolent relief by relieving poverty or distress such as sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune or helplessness.
Simply contact us and let us know who they are and what they do and if we think they are a good fit we’ll begin the approval process.
We support every registered Australian charity.
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission has over 54,000 registered charities. To make things simpler we have promoted what we believe to be 40 of Australia’s biggest and/or most credible charities. Utilising the AMR Charity Reputation Index, media articles and our own research we have reviewed and selected 40 charities that we believe are the most reputable, most influential and who are doing an excellent job meeting important needs in the community.
There are thousands of charities doing this, but to make things easier we have included the main ones that Australians support, to make your decision faster and easier.
If your favourite charity is not listed you simply select “other” from the drop down menu when setting up a campaign.
We mostly support charities that are classified by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission as Public Benevolent Institutions. That means they are charities providing direct benevolent relief by relieving poverty or distress such as sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune or helplessness.

No we don’t take any fees. Donate Your Day is completely free for everybody.
We don’t charge any fees for fundraising or donating. We also do not take any administration fees.
The only costs charged are by Paypal and the credit card processing company (Stripe). These are their costs to process donations:
Paypal charge 1.1% +30c (2.1% + 30c for international cards like Amex) and Stripe charge 1.75% + 30c per transaction (2.9% + 30c for international cards-Amex etc). (Feel free to contact them and ask them to not charge these fees. We have and they claim these are the cheapest rates they can possibly do for charities).
Example: If you donate $25 through Paypal they charge you 58c. This means the final donation to charity would be $24.42.
Because you gave $25 though, this amount ($25) will be added to the person’s campaign total. However, at the end of their campaign, when their total amount raised is donated to charity, your donation to their charity would actually be $24.42 (as paypal have taken their 58c).
100% of the money added to a person’s campaign tally (minus Paypal and Stripe’s unavoidable fees) is donated to the charity they are supporting via us. We do not take any administration or any other fees.
We are a registered charity ourselves and believe 100% in supporting charities.
Donate Your Day is a registered Australian charity, passionate about working with Australians, to raise more money for charities who are changing lives around Australia and across the globe.
The concept is instead of receiving gifts on a particular day (birthdays, Mothers’ Day, anniversaries, Thursdays or any other day you can think of) Australians raise money for their favourite charities via Donate Your Day. Fundraisers will encourage family, friends, work or sport colleagues, neighbours etc. to donate to their day instead of giving gifts.
You will set up your own personal dashboard on Donate Your Day. You then notify all of your connections. At the end of your campaign the fund raising done via us will be donated to the charity you are choosing to support.
You can use the power of your special occasion to change the world today.
Donations are not tax deductible. Instead of buying a gift for someone you are giving them money for their special occasion to be donated by them, via us, to the charity of their choice.
Yes, you can raise funds for more than one charity but you need to set up a different campaign for each one. You can only fundraise for one charity per fund raiser. For example, instead of raising $500 for one charity with one campaign you could have two different campaigns supporting two different charities and aim for $250 on each one.
Yes. Simply log in to your account and make the change in settings before the end of your fund raiser.
When you set up a new campaign there is an option to select private campaign. This means that it does not appear on the “browse campaigns” page. However, people can still find you if they search for you. This is essential so you can raise funds for your campaign.
Anyone 12 years of age or older can use Donate Your Day. If you are 12-15 you need parent/guardian permission. Anyone 16 or older can register and hold fund raising campaigns without parental/guardian approval, so start today and help change the world.
